The President’s Scholarship Performance concert is excited to be presenting “An Acoustic Evening with Al Stewart with special guest Dave Nachmanoff. This event will begin at 7 pm on Saturday, January 23, 2010 in Corbet Theatre. Centralia College will once again welcome the Seattle to Portland (STP) bikers on campus. If you are a rider and an alum of Centralia College, be sure to check out the newly renovated gym and the new Science Building while you are on campus.

We only have 10 days until STP hits our campus and we are pumped! Expect to see 9500 riders pedal thru campus on July 11 and hundreds of them will be spending the night here. Some in tents, RV’s,  gym or  semi private rooms. If you haven’t made your accomodations yet, better call, space is limited!!  Remember tent space is FREE and there are no reservations! Send your tent & sleeping  bag on the luggage truck from Seattle and pick it up here…you are good to go! Centralia College is planning a huge weekend with lots of music, food, beer garden & fun. Pedal on down!!

Summer classes began yesterday. It is so good to see “life” back on campus. We have several events happening on campus over the summer months – STP official midpoint and the Hispanic Festival in July. Please contact our office for more information at (360) 736-9391, ext. 290.

Through a grant, we have a unique opportunity to bring a 2-day eLearning training workshop to our doorstep.  Whether you teach a traditional or online course (or something in between) you will leave this workshop with the practical knowledge you can apply right away.

Countdown to Commencement and there is still plenty to do on campus this week! Monday  – Stop by the tech building to visit the welding class art show. Tuesday – City University graduation and the CC Choir concert. Wednesday - a special needs presentation with Kari Winsor, Blue Earth Farms. Thursday – Running Start orientation and Friday – THE BIG DAY! Commencement breakfast for faculty and staff at 7:30, Distinguished Alumni luncheon at 11:30 and Commencement at 4 pm outside by the clocktower.  The festivities will continue  Saturday for the Nursing Pinning Ceremonies at 11 am and 1 pm.
