For Matures Audiences

“Speech & Debate” takes three teenage misfits from Salem, Ore., and allows them to discover they are linked to a sex scandal. It appears Salem’s mayor has been “chatting” online with young men. When one of the teens sets out to expose the truth, secrets become currency, the stakes get higher and the trio’s connection to one another deepens as they search for solutions.

The New York Times called “Speech & Debate” “a triumph…hilarious, cliché-free and immensely entertaining.”

If “Speech & Debate” were a film, it’d be rated PG-13. Mature audiences willing to be challenged will find this play vastly enjoyable.

Produced with permission from Dramatists Play Service, Inc. This is Centralia College’s 197th production since 1925.
