Sports Hall of Fame seeks nominations

Centralia College is seeking nominations for its Athletics Hall of Fame, an annual honor that recognizes athletes, teams, coaches, and supporters of Trailblazer athletics.

To be considered for Hall of Fame induction, nominees must have contributed in an outstanding and positive way to the Centralia College athletic programs, and brought prestige and pride to the college through their achievements in the field of intercollegiate, interscholastic, professional sports and public life.

Athlete nominations

Athletes may be nominated five years after athletic competition at Centralia College. They must have played on a varsity sport team at Centralia College and been enrolled at Centralia College for a minimum of one academic year.

Coach nominations

Any Centralia College athletic coach who participated on a Centralia College varsity team is eligible. Others must have coached a minimum of five years at Centralia College.

Athletic staff nominations

Any Centralia College athletic staff member who is a Centralia College alumnus is eligible for nomination. Others must have served minimum qualifications, given special circumstances.

Team nominations

Eligible teams must have attained memorable achievements as evidenced by the win-loss record and/or championship honors.

Nomination forms are available online. There is no due date, but the Athletics Hall of Fame Council will begin reviewing nominations Nov. 13. Nomination forms can be submitted electronically to single@centralia.edu or dropped off at the Athletics Office, located inside the Health and Wellness Center on campus.

The 2015 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be Feb. 21.
