Joanne Schwartz, Centralia College trustee, was awarded the Community Excellence Award at a special event Dec. 4 at the Centralia Square Ballroom.
Providence Centralia Hospital medical staff and the Community and Foundation boards honored Schwartz for her outstanding contributions to the hospital, medical staff and community.
Serving the community has been a lifelong passion for Schwartz, who has held various leadership roles over the years. Early in her career, she served two terms as Lewis County commissioner. In the 1980s, she worked for Centralia General Hospital as the community relations/marketing director. Later, she served as administrator for the Department of Community Services and as economic development manager for the city of Chehalis.
Currently, she serves as a member of the Providence Centralia Hospital Community Board, the board of directors of the Chehalis Foundation, the board of directors of the Twin Cities Sertoma service club, and the Centralia College Board of Trustees.
With her years of investment in our community, it is easy to see why Joanne Schwartz was honored with the Community Excellence Award. Congratulations!
