A Centralia College selection committee is seeking nominations for its Distinguished Alumnus Award. The award is given annually to an individual who attended Centralia College for at least one year and/or has made significant contributions to his or her profession or society in general.
The recipient of this prestigious award is named in the spring and recognized at the college’s graduation ceremony in June.
Previous winners include: Brian Valentine, former senior vice president with Microsoft; Dr. Jerris Hedges, whose work was instrumental in developing the pacemaker; Del Smith, founder of Evergreen International Aviation, Inc.; Angela Meade, world renowned opera singer; and Patty Morton, America’s first female U.S. State Department Special Agent. In all, 37 individuals have received the Distinguished Alumnus Award.
The selection committee depends on the community to make nominations and is asking the public to share information about those who have attended Centralia College.
