The Associated Students of Centralia College, in conjunction with Oxfam America, is hosting a dinner banquet in support of local food banks, and to raise awareness about the issue of global hunger. The banquet will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 18 in the Student Center cafeteria.
Centralia College Drama and Theatre Professor Brian Tyrrell will act as master of ceremonies. Speakers will include Centralia College’s Open Education Librarian Leah Hannaford, and Individualized Program Coordinator Alicia Wicks; both have vast experience in developing countries throughout the world.
Oxfam America is part of a global organization working to right the wrongs of poverty, hunger, and injustice. As one of 17 members of the international Oxfam confederation, they work with people in more than 90 countries to create lasting solutions to these issues.
