The Associated Students of Centralia College (ASCC) Student Government is launching a Blazer Kids Club to engage the community and elementary school kids around the possibilities of higher education.
So far, the Blazer Kids Club is working with Edison Elementary School in Centralia.
“We are starting this project with Edison Elementary for this year and will expand as we work it all out,” explained Wilson Kessel, ASCC president. “In order to get kids to our events, we have developed a punch card system with an incentive. The incentive is a free book once they receive five punches on their card.”
The ASCC is now collecting books to use as prizes for the Blazer Kids Club members.
Most needed are books for children in kindergarten through fifth grades. Books can be used, but must be in good condition.
Bring donations to the Student Center, rooms 101 or 126, or to a designated dropbox in the Walton Science Center foyer, Washington Hall foyer, Library, and Health and Wellness Center (outside the cardio room).
