Centralia College’s Child and Family Studies Division will host its annual Family Fun Fest celebration from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, April 22, in the campus Health and Wellness Center (corner of Iron and Walnut streets).
The event is free and open to young children and accompanying adults.
Activities will include:
- Hands-on science and art
- Obstacle course
- $8 bike helmets
- Healthy snacks
- Fire and police vehicles
- BlockFest (an interactive exhibit designed to build science and math skills)
Special guests will include the Lewis County Dairy Princess, Hands On Children’s Museum, and Discover! Children’s Museum.
“Family Fun Fest is something we look forward to all year,” said Cristi Heitschmidt, the dean of Child and Family Studies. “The children and caregivers have so much fun. It’s a great way to welcome young families to the college.”
Families visiting for Family Fun Fest are also encouraged to check out the Earth Day activities elsewhere on campus from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 22. Earth Day activities include Fin the Migrating Salmon, an interactive display of the salmon lifecycle and watershed habitat, performances by Recycleman, kids’ games and activities, and special recycling of Styrofoam and car batteries. All events are free and open to all.
