Centralia College will host a Memorial Day observance at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, at the flagpoles outside the Hanson Administration Building. The community is invited and encouraged to attend.
This year the ceremony will focus on the purpose of why our nation designated this day as a holiday as well as what it means to be a hero. Speakers will include Heidi Palmer (Army Veteran), Joe Worley (Army National Guard, Veteran), and featured speaker Phil Genz (Navy, Veteran).
An interactive display will allow the campus community and guests to commemorate and honor fallen military members by placing a flag in the ground by the flag pole. Additionally, during the reception, guests will have the opportunity to view the moving Fallen Soldier Table Memorial which honors service members who have fallen during the line of duty.
