The Centralia College Foundation will have 27 students attending Centralia College for the 2018-19 academic year on the Valedictorian/Salutatorian Scholarship, the highest number since 2012.
The scholarship pays for tuition for students who were valedictorian or salutatorian of their high school. Former valedictorians and salutatorians from any year can apply from Dec. 1 to March 1. The scholarship covers tuition up to 18 credits per quarter and is renewable for up to two years of study at Centralia College.
In 2018-19, $116,208 in tuition is expected to be paid for the 27 students who will begin classes in September.
“We really want to acknowledge the achievement of valedictorians and salutatorians, and encourage them to continue their studies at Centralia College,” explained Julia Johnson, director of donor and alumni relations. “It’s a great opportunity and a great incentive offered by the Centralia College Foundation.”
