Memorial Day Ceremony is May 29

Centralia College will host its annual Memorial Day observance at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, in front of the Hanson Building. The community is invited to attend.

The featured speaker this year is Lauren Marcoux, who served in the Navy from January 2003 until February 2006. Her last duty station was Naval Air Station North Island in San Diego, where she worked on Naval aircraft as an Aviation Electrician’s Mate (AEAN). She will be graduating from Centralia College next month with an associate degree in Business Administration,. She will continue at Centralia College in the fall to earn her bachelor’s degree in Applied Management.

Also speaking at the event will be Heidi Palmer, an Army veteran and Centralia College’s Vet Corps Navigator, and Dr. Bob Mohrbacher, Centralia College president. The Lewis County Marine Corps League Detachment 119 will post and retire the colors.

Refreshments will be available after the ceremony in the Veterans Center in Kemp Hall room 103.
