A selection committee comprised of Centralia College and Centralia College Foundation representatives is currently seeking nominations for the Distinguished Alumnus Award. The award is presented annually to an individual who attended Centralia College for at least one year and who has made significant contributions to his or her profession or society.
The recipient of this prestigious award is named in the spring and recognized at the college’s graduation ceremony in June.
Previous winners include: James O. Lonborg, who worked in the US space program in its inception; Susan Dunn, vice president of a government relations firm, who retired from 30 years of exemplary service for Washington state; and Bill Brumsickle, a former school administrator, teacher, and former four-term 20th District Washington state senator. In all, 39 individuals have received the Distinguished Alumnus Award.
The selection committee is reliant on the community to nominate appropriate alumni from Centralia College.
