Centralia College is now accepting applications for its Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program.
Classes start Feb. 7 and end June 1. Classes will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, with two Saturday morning classes. Class size is limited to 20 students.
EMTs conduct basic, noninvasive interventions to save lives, reduce harm at emergency sites and transport patients to the hospital when necessary. In many places, EMTs provide the majority of out-of-hospital care and are the most common type of providers in all of emergency medical services.
During the training as an EMT, students learn the essential skills needed for patient care in life-threatening situations.
